_what
posters, flyers, logos, t-shirts and live visuals for the feature film, viena and the fantomes.
_how
set decorator and old friend pippa culpepper reached out and asked that we might make various band posters, flyers, logos, t-shirts and live visuals for gerardo naranjo's gritty, 1980s-set music drama, viena and the fantomes. the film stars dakota fanning, zoĆ« kravitz, evan rachel wood, caleb landry jones, jon bernthal and frank dillane. the production designer on the film was anna terrazas.

naturally we leapt at the chance to do this kind of work. caspar asked various new york friends to get together at a studio in bushwick. he specified a dress code and then photographer jeff brown captured everyone in various setups including live performance and band photoshoots. caspar then took all the images, various typefaces and some additional texts from pippa and produced various large format graphics. pippa then printed everything out on location and / or projected the graphics onto various scenes in the film. the results of which you can see here.

_what
writing, directing, title design and poster design for the short film, light up the night.
_how
executive producer john la valle approached us with idea of making a film of a section of the protomen's second record, act II: the father of death. the band chose light up the night as the song, and caspar approached friend and collaborator matt sundin to co-direct the project with him.

development of the project took some years. the end result, shot in new york city and starring james ransone, you can see here. the work is a testament to the band and everyone else involved. the film pays homage to many of the recording artists, films and video games that inspired us to do the work we do today.

caspar and the band collaborated once again with john delucca on the film's storyboards, production design, set decoration, title sequence and its poster design. josiah newbolt and joey ciccoline handled the bulk of the post-production motion graphics and compositing work.
