we were introduced to writer / director sarah-anaïs desbenoit by anaïs-tohe commaret some years ago now, and have remained fans of her work since. when she sent us her short film phalène we were struck at how beautifully she managed to communicate the film's other-worldly narrative without any dialogue. this of course spoke to us, because such is the silence of the film poster too.

sarah gave us carte blanche to create any kind of poster we wanted for the film. we went for a poster that obliquely relates the film's narrative using collaged graphic elements traced from the film itself.

during the making of the poster the film won the grand prix du jury at the champs-élysées film festival.
