poster for the feature documentary, the act of dreaming.

directors john maggio and neha shastry asked that we might make the titles and poster for their forthcoming feature documentary, the act of dreaming. the film is a deeply intimate portrait of the lives of three families working to make the united states their home amid a shifting political landscape and widespread hostility towards immigrants.

the poster you see here was the second of two posters caspar made after presenting a range of possible directions to john and neha. it's an homage to and an evolution of the work of michael bierut, ryan habbyshaw and some others. the intention with the poster was not only to speak to the film's narrative but also to the larger political picture regarding the united states of america these days. 

the film will be having a special screening at the buffalo international film festival. do see it if you have the means. it's a moving, probing and highly timely piece of work.
