redesign of the new york-based film journal, filmmaker magazine.
_how
we pitched editor scott macaulay on the redesign of his longstanding, much respected, new york-based magazine and he said it was perfect timing. the forthcoming issue was to be his 100th issue, marking 25 years since he started the magazine with friends back in the early 90s. after some further discussion we discovered he shared a similar aesthetic interests to ours and soon the project was under way.

sharing a mutual admiration for each other's work we contacted our friend charlotte gosch in germany and asked her if she'd like to collaborate with us on the project. the whole magazine including the logo was redesigned over the space of about a month and a half. we hope the design speaks for itself as you move from page to page, but in short it represents an attempt to breathe new life into a word-heavy film journal and talk about the importance of the image in that context.
