poster for the feature film, the heirloom.

writer / director ben petrie asked that we might make a poster for his directorial feature film debut. we'd previously worked with ben on the poster for grace glowicki's feature debut tito, and were keen to see what kind of new material he and grace, as partners, had put together this time.

the film is called the heirloom and is a comedy set during the COVID 19 pandemic about a couple who decide to adopt a dog. ben plays the boyfriend in the couple who, also a filmmaker, decides to make a film within the film about them adopting the dog. the film is a wonderful piece of psychological self-analysis and we were keen to make a poster for it.

we presented a series of ideas and ben went with the one you see here. liza evseeva then painted the image just as you see it, and caspar took care of the layout and type.
