Alison Simons |

Alison Simons graduated from the University of Manchester in 1986 with a first class honours degree in Computer Science. She then joined the Speech Applications division at BT Research Laboratories, working on text to speech synthesis and speech recognition, particularly for automated directory access systems. Alison contributed to several patents which have been granted for speech recognition, receiving BT's patent medal in 1997 for the most promising invention of the year. In 1996 she was awarded an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering with distinction from Kings College London. Then, in 1997, she moved to BT's Intellectual Property Department. In 2000 she qualified as a European Patent Attorney, her 'Opposition' paper being published as the model answer. In 2001 Alison joined the practice of Dummett Copp as an Associate. She specialises in software and telecommunications related inventions. |
