merry angel, the founder & head of ecodeco, emailed us recently with plans for her new website that would coincide with ecodeco's move into the new york jewelry scene. immediately we set to work creating designs in collboration with a manga artist who works for merry in tokyo. the plan was to bring the manga character, merry angel, to life & to present the ecodeco brand in a whole new light. merry paid very close attention to every last detail of the production & the result is a very original & visually gorgeous production. watch out for secrets !

interview for tracey neuls' new shop, tn 29.
_how
our associates at jackblood productions were directing this interview of tracey neuls on behalf of leo burnett and asked us to collaborate to augment the footage with graphics and animation, in keeping with the visual style of the shop. we used a used a full range of design techniques, including hand drawn textual animation and scripted flash work.

tanit was after a site that would capture the attention of art directors around the world and deliver, in the most interesting way possible, her rather eclectic style of photography & film making. very open to our more outlandish and experimental ideas from the start, the collaboration was exciting and culminated in a multi-faceted and atmospheric website unlike any other.

website for a vietnam-based high fashion company, ipa-nima.

christina yu, owner and founder of ipa-nima, contacted us with the desire to improve her current web presence and to create a site which would not only market her products in a organized and user friendly fashion, but also deliver a rather conceptual 'ipa-nima' experience to each one of her buyers.

in studying christina's work and seeing the complexity of her designs, it was very clear to us that this was certainly not an aesthetic that we needed to 'further develop & add to'. we decided instead to pull from the exisiting design elements & use them as the aesthetic foundation for the site. the end result is an organic site composition which focuses on surprising the viewer & fluidly growing as one progresses through the site.

website for the miami-based fashion house, house of jackie brown
_how
jackie & emily wanted a site that would showcase their late 80s / early 90s influenced new swimwear line, electric couture. given carte blanche to do anything we wanted with the site we set about creating a eleven aesthetic variations all based around this iconic time period. we then wrote music and treated our visuals in a way that made them feel as if they had been salvaged from that era - fades, creases, crackles and all.

website for new york-based vintage clothing store, frock
_how
frock's old website was created and updated by them using dreamweaver. whilst it had its charms it was mostly a hinderance to keep up to scratch and suffered from serious UI issues. the site also completely lacked any kind of e-commerce element. 

we proposed using shopify as their store solution. we'd never implemented it before, but it turned out to be the most easy to use, setup and customize e-commerce solution that we've ever come across. 

given frock were purveyors of 60s - 80s  vintage clothing, we decide to base the site's design on the 80s robert palmer music video for addicted to love. the result is a very simple, geometrical, full-bleed fashion photo-based site design, that keeps everything big, fun, simple and with a predominant focus on the colours of the clothing.

website for the new york-based fashion-line, fred david
_how
we were put in touch with fred david by the fantastic people at big fuel, formerly apex exposure. fred david were tired of their old flash-based corporate site and wanted something they could easily update that was ipad friendly and presented not just the umbrella company but the brands beneath it. multi-lingual support was also key to them. 

we built a javascript-based site that gave them the chance to flick through their look books easily on the ipad. the aesthetic remained subtle and tonal with inflections of each brand where necessary. the custom back-end that we built gave them the chance to duplicate all the site copy in french as well as english.

for the 2010 line of jackie brown's swimwear line we were asked to retouch a series of super raw shots taken in various locations around the city of new york and bring them inline with the company's overall aesthetic. the designs were used in both print + online campaigns.
